Wellington, Fla. – March 2, 2017 – Week Eight competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival continued on Thursday morning in the E.R. Mische Grand Hunter Ring, where Scott Stewart successfully piloted Captivate to the champion title of the Green Hunter 3'9" division. Kristy Herrera aboard The Exchange, owned by Over the Top Stables, LLC, took home the reserve champion honors.
Stewart is no stranger to being on top, having won the $100,000 Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular only a few weeks earlier for the past two consecutive seasons. USHJA judge, Bobbie Reber, commented on Stewart's technique in the show ring, which in the hunter classes is second to none.
"You get such a beautiful ride from Scott," said Reber. "The natural gallop lets a hunter look like nothing is manufactured. He's not putting them all in the bridle, he lets them go free and jump nicely and naturally so it's obviously a pleasure to watch. As far as when Scott comes into the ring, he brings quality."

Stewart's mount, Captivate, owned by Fashion Farm, is an 8-year-old Westphalian gelding who is proven to deliver winning results throughout his career in the show ring.
"Captivate is a beautiful horse," said Reber. "He canters across the ground beautifully and of course he jumps the fences as good as a horse can jump. He won the class because of his quality and certainly because of his jumping ability."
"Captivate has been great and really consistent all season," said Stewart. "He's been champion and reserve every time out with me. He's going over to the Deeridge Derby tomorrow and we are looking forward to similar results."

Immediately following the Green Hunter divisions, was the High Performance Working Hunter division. Peter Wylde dominated the professional division aboard MTM Hands Down, a 14-year-old Warmblood gelding, and swept both classes.
"Today was the first time we showed MTM Hands Down in the High Performance and he was incredible," said Wylde.
MTM Hands Down is owned by a student of Wylde's at Beechwood Stables, LLC in Weston, Massachusetts.
Reserve champion of the division was Meagan Murray-Tenuta and Rebecca Price's Editorial, a 9-year-old Holsteiner gelding. The duo placed third in the High Performance Working Hunter over fences and second in the stake round.
