Wellington, Fla. – Jan. 19, 2017 – Wednesday marked the beginning of Week Two at the 2017 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). The E.R. Mische Grand Hunter Ring proved to be the perfect setting for the Green Conformation and Hunter divisions, showcasing the next generation of top hunter horses.

Scott Stewart continued to earn blue ribbons after winning numerous championships in the professional hunter divisions during Week One, including earning the championship in the Green Conformation Hunter division. Stewart extended his winning streak by earning another tricolor in the Green Conformation Hunter division to kick-off Week Two aboard Private Life, a striking 6-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. Stewart's own Rivers Edge purchased the champion gelding in November 2015.

"He is really sweet and laid back, and a very easy horse to ride," said Stewart.

In October 2016, Stewart and Private Life won the $25,000 Future Hunter North American Championship at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. After claiming two champion titles at WEF thus far, the pair will not be competing during Week Three.

"[Private Life] will probably get the next one or two weeks off and maybe show one more week before Week Six," explained Stewart. "Week Six is our goal because it is the World Champion Hunter Rider week."

Winning reserve champion in the Green Conformation Hunter division was Tamara Provost and Salt, owned by Bridget Hallman.

"He is very sweet, very kind and always tries to please," said Provost of Salt.

Provost has been riding Salt since May and the duo claimed the reserve title on Thursday with little experience.

"He hasn't shown much and has very few show miles so far," Provost explained. "I am very proud of him and he is also for sale."

Kelley Farmer and Because earned two blues on Thursday with scores of 90 and 92 over fences to claim the champion title in the Green Hunter 3'9" division. In Wednesday's classes, the pair won first and fourth over fences and third under saddle. Because is a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion owned by Jane Gaston. Since purchasing the stallion in Ocala in early 2016, he has been largely successful in both the amateur and professional hunter divisions.
